Christian media fear attacks after killing

Christian journalists have expressed growing concerns for their safety after a reporter in Northern Province was shot and killed earlier this week in an attack for which the Taliban has claimed responsibility.news

As we all know Pakistan is a most dangerous place in the world. Having a majority of Muslims violates the human rights. The freedom of religion is completely abolished in the Muslim country. The poor catholic Asia Bibi was prisoned in the name of blasphemy and the one and only Christian minister in the country Shahbaz Bhatti, Minister of Minority Affairs was gunned down by Taliban and Al Qaeda assassins. Now they target the journalists. It is because the journalists write about the atrocity of the country’s most dangerous group. The fanaticism of the Pakistani is not just begun. It was there from the early times of its independence. But now the journalists bring to the notice of the whole world. And the world has stamped the country as a most dangerous place in the world. And in the case of Asia Bibi the whole world raised voice against the imprisonment of Bibi in the name of religion.

Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the killing of Aatif, with the group issuing a statement saying that it had warned Aatif about spreading what it called propaganda about the group in the international press. So now the Christians are also afraid if the Taliban group. The Catholic communication desk in Rawalpindi diocese has reworked its editorial police in the wake of the killing of Aatif and others throughout the country. Banaras Khan, editor of the monthly diocese publication Shaloom said that they have stopped publishing political articles or analysis on the prevalent situation and are being more cautious,” It started from freedom religion and now it has reached the freedom of speech and writing. If the media is afraid and do not transmit the truth, what about the simple people belonging to the other religion?

ECUMENICAL PRAYER WEEK

One of the oldest ecumenical events in the world, the week of prayer, will be observed by Churches and Christian bodies in India from 18-25 January 2012.news

The “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity”, which concludes on January 25 first began in 1908 and promotes worldwide Christian unity. Ecumenism refers to initiatives aimed at greater Christian unity or cooperation. , the term ecumenism means the Christian unity in the literal meaning: that there should be a single Christian Church. Not to be confused with many denominations in the Church.

The general understanding of the Ecumenical movement is that it came from the Catholic church attempt to reconcile with Christians who had separated over theological issues, The world war II had brought much devastation to many people. The church became a source of hope to those in need. In 1948 the first meeting of the World Council of Churches took place. The focus of the church and the council following the gathering was on the damage created by the second World War. The council and the movement went forward to continue the efforts of unity the church globally around the idea of helping all those in need whether it be a physical, emotional, or spiritual need. The movement led to an understanding among the churches that despite difference they could join together to be an element of great change in the world. To be an agent of hope and peace amongst the chaos and destruction that humans seem to create.

Now the world is badly affected by the economic crisis.it has damaged the minds of the people. People have trust in the church that the church will do something.news The church has to respond for the need of the people. For that the church must be united.

MUSLIMS CONVICT CHRISTIAN CLERIC

An Islamic court in Kashmir has convicted a Protestant pastor of converting Muslims to Christianity, while another pastor and a Catholic priest have been indicted on similar charges. news

There problem regarding the conversion in to Christianity exists for a long time in India. Earlier, it was the Hindus who accused Christian missionaries of converting people by giving money, wheat, milk powder or jobs or any other means. But now the Muslims began to accuse the missionaries. The point to be noted is both Christianity and Islam are minorities in India. India is a multi religious country. There exists a law of freedom of religion in the Indian constitution. Every citizen of India has the right to practice his own religion chosen by him freely without any force. The pastors, who have been accused, reported that they were not using any means for conversion. In that case the accusation is false and it is invalid.

The reasons behind these accusations are fanaticism and power in the society. The uneducated villagers are unaware of the reality around them so they live like a slave to the landlords. The fanatics and the rich use these conditions to manipulate the poor. Once they are given education and made aware of the realities they wake up and join hands against the fanatics and the rich landlords. But they cannot stop these missionaries teaching the poor. Instead they accuse the missionary of converting the people by giving food or money. Since they are in power at present the can accuse the missionaries and quit them from the place with the false accusations. As far as the rules and regulations are in the hands of the fanatics this will continue. The better means would be to educate the poor until all of them are aware of the politics done by the fanatics and by the so called rich.

In the time of their distress like unemployment they would like to be accepted in their family, relatives and I their peer groups too. This acceptance has to start from their family. The parents must be ready to listen to them. They will have new ideas to overcome the situation of the family or an institution. This listening will be a consolation for them and at the same time it will be eye-opener for the society. When they are listened they will gain confidence in themselves. Instead of infusing their ideas the parents must listen to them and guide them accordingly. S it is necessary for the parents to listen to the youngsters in making a new society.
